AmbonnayThe Estate

Located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, Ambonnay is one of the terroirs of the Côte des Grands Noirs to claim the "Grand Cru" appellation. We have been working with passion on this exceptional terroir for several generations with the sole aim of revealing the quintessence of our mosaic of parcels.

The Plots

Each parcel has its own unique characteristics. The perfect exposure of the "Termes Bazin" parcel allows us to obtain a great richness for our Chardonnay while the extremely chalky soil of the "Baronnette" is full of great minerality. The intensity of the Pinot Noir is typical of our "Chanteraine" or "Moulin" plots.

We take particular care with each of our plots, working in an environmentally friendly manner. We limit our interventions to a minimum, which we carry out exclusively with light tools to avoid soil compaction.

The municipalityAmbonnay

The commune has three monuments listed or classified as historical monuments. The church of Saint-Réol dates from the 12th and 13th centuries. It houses a Renaissance baptismal font from 1550 and a stone statue of Saint John the Baptist from the 16th century, which are also listed.

Other sights in the village include a fountain dating from 1853, built by the architect Tortat at the crossroads of the Bouzy and Trépail roads, and a stone cross dating from 1582. The village was once surrounded by moats and ramparts dating back to King Henry IV, a great lover of the Champagne region and its wines. The names of all the streets and alleys in Ambonnay are indicated on the walls of the houses in wrought iron.
